KendalPitch

Kendal Mountain Festival is launching KendalPitch for the very first time — a brand-new initiative supporting emerging filmmakers and bold new storytelling through short-form cinema.

We’re looking for original and compelling short-film projects (maximum 15 minutes) that explore all aspects of nature, adventure, environment, exploration, and the human connection to the outdoors. From intimate personal stories to ambitious journeys and urgent environmental narratives, KendalPitch aims to spotlight fresh creative voices and powerful ideas.

KendalPitch is open to emerging filmmakers of all ages and nationalities, with an emphasis on original storytelling, distinctive creative vision, and compelling cinematic expression.

The Prize

Five selected filmmakers will be invited to present their projects live in Kendal during the Festival before an international jury and Festival audience. The winning project will receive a £10,000 film grant to support the development and production of the film. The award is generously sponsored by Beyond Boundaries Films, in recognition of their commitment to supporting emerging filmmaking talent.

The winning project will also receive mentorship sessions from the Beyond Boundaries Films team.

"At Beyond Boundaries Films, our mission is to encourage, mentor, and support filmmakers who aim to produce films that celebrate the human spirit, the value of wild spaces, and the wonder of exploration. We seek to support emerging artists and eliminate barriers between them and their audience. We look for unique stories that might vanish without our help. We know from experience that emerging filmmakers have unimaginable stories to share, and it’s our goal to find these individuals and ensure they receive the film grants and opportunities they deserve."
