Our legendary, fully accessible, free-for-all, tented Basecamp Village is the heart of our Festival – our social hub where brands bring their stories to life, our stages deliver talks from everyday adventures to the icons of the world of mountaineering and exploration and there is endless excitement from being with a whole bunch of people that love and cherish the outdoors.

This year Basecamp is back over two locations! The Shackleton Tent returns to it’s much-loved spot outside the Brewery Arts Centre whilst Basecamp will be set-up in a new larger space at Abbot Hall Park.

Step inside our Basecamp villages and enter a one-of-a-kind destination celebrating all things outdoor! Built using reclaimed wood and dressed in prayer flags, our Basecamps are a vibrant place to catch up with old friends and make new ones (have we mentioned that many a relationship has started in our Basecamp!) over a beer and live music.

Entirely free to enter, Basecamp is alive with exciting activations, competitions and demonstrations from your favourite outdoor brands. There's something for all of the family and it's a place you'll find yourself returning to time and time again over the Festival weekend.

We are delighted to welcome BUFF, YETI and RAB as our Basecamp stage partners

The Basecamp Village is back and with a new larger location at Abbot Hall Park. Free for all!

Crafted out of reclaimed wood and dressed with prayer flags; our village is the social hub of our Festival. This year it is bigger and better than ever before with more brands involved, two packed stages of content - the YETI Stage and the Buff Stage. Three full days of talks, panel discussions and an extended food and drink offering.

BUFF stage

The Buff Stage hosts brand athletes, explorers and adventurers. Fun conversations with superstars hosted by our favourite presenters.

YETI stage

The Yeti Stage is a space to celebrate everyday adventure - inspiring stories from our local adventurers and community!

The Shackleton Tent will once again return to the Brewery Arts Centre and here you will find a space dedicated to our mountaineering core.

RAB stage

With a new stage presented by Rab - listen to a series of free how-to-do talks, hear about the best technical kit from our partners and delve into our mountaineering heritage – you might even spot a few famous faces.

Please note that all Covid regulations that are required by the English government at the time of the Festival will be adhered to; which may or may not include face coverings, vaccination passports, negative lateral flow tests, and/or social distancing. View our latest Covid Guidance.
