We’re a small town with a big heart; our community will welcome you with open arms

Kendal is packed with intriguing history and surrounded by spectacular fells and green spaces. Our streets are alive with eateries, coffee shops, traditional pubs and hip bars.

Accommodation in Kendal

It is wise to book your accommodation well ahead of the Festival – it gets booked up very quickly in the centre of Kendal. There is a great range of options available for every budget from Kendal's vibrant youth hostel to four-star hotels. Visit Kendal website provides information on accommodation options.

We also recommend looking at self-catering properties, guest houses, and hotels in the Lake District and combining our Festival with the spectacular scenery of our local fells and lakes.

  • The Kendal Camping and Caravanning Club site will be open over the Festival. Book Here.
  • Kendal Hostel; The Dojo is returning (To comply with government guidelines there will be reduced capacity in the hostel with no sharing of rooms. Instead, there will be 6 rooms available for groups to book ranging from 4 beds to 10 bedrooms.) Book Here.
  • Campervans at the Dojo are also returning.Book Here.
  • Campervan options are available soon.

Where to refuel

Like outdoor adventure, attending our Festival can be hungry and thirsty work. We are delighted to continue to expand our offering – with a range of bars and cafes in the Shackleton and Basecamp Tents.

We have local food venders at the Festival, who ensure, where possible, that ingredients are local. There will also be more vegan and vegetarian options. All of our venders will be using eco friendly containers and cutlery.

Our Festival takes place in the centre of Kendal and from here we encourage you to explore our bustling town. You’ll find many vibrant places to refuel including casual coffee shops, traditional pubs, cool bars and formal restaurants. Head to the Visit Kendal website to explore the local options and find the perfect place for a refreshing pit-stop during the day or a relaxing drink in the evening.
