Join us for the world’s largest outdoor cultural festival as we share stories of adventure, exploration and nature. Connect with over 25’000 outdoor enthusiasts and be inspired by some truly amazing individuals.

Each month between July and October, we will release newly confirmed events,

with the film programme announced mid-October.

The Festival Ticket Passes are now on sale!

Taking place 19 - 22 November, with over 200 live sessions, featuring 300+ speakers, screening 150+ films, hosting 10+ parties, 60+ activities and workshops plus a few new surprises too!

Photography Competition 2026

For over four decades, Kendal Mountain Festival has championed stories of adventure, resilience, and inspiration through our International Film Competition.

The Kendal Mountain Festival Photography Competition 2026 aims to showcase exceptional images from around the world, celebrating the unique power of a single photograph to inspire, challenge, and spark reflection. We invite photographers to submit work that captures the spirit of adventure and the beauty of the natural world, through images that tell compelling visual stories.

Reel Rock at the 2026 Festival!

We are delighted to announce we are the exclusive UK distributor of this year's Reel Rock!

We will be kicking the tour off with a special screening on the 29th Oct in the Lake District, we'd love for you to join us.

This will also be the first time we will have it here at the Festival, with the one and only Janja Garnbret joining the stage!

Draw your North: design competition

Call for Designers, Artists and Creatives of all flavours to visualise what 'North' means to you.

Grand prize includes a paid commission and 2026 Festival tickets. Deadline for entries: Friday 13th November.

Northern Monk are joining forces with Kendal Mountain Festival to celebrate the graphic art disciplines that help shape outdoor culture by launching the Festival’s first design and illustration competition: Draw Your North.

Set to become the South East’s largest outdoor cultural event, it will bring the world-class Kendal Mountain Festival experience beyond Cumbria for the first time, into one of the country’s most iconic natural landscapes.
