TOUR AND EXTERNAL EVENTS MANAGER

Are you a team player, keen to develop, manage and deliver the Tour and External Events of UK's leading outdoor and adventure focussed Festival?

The Tour and External Events Manager will lead an exciting and ambitious strategy that will deliver concise and engaging events, whilst elevating the brand and profile of Kendal Mountain.

We are seeking an Events Specialist to implement a cohesive strategy that will engage existing and new audiences, build greater brand awareness and drive sales across numerous events both nationally and internationally.

This position is centred in a fast-paced environment requiring the successful candidate to support and pivot across multiple tasks and audiences on a daily basis. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, close attention to detail and a flexible approach. Experience of working in an event role is highly desirable, as well as quantified experience of liaising with a range of colleagues and stakeholders, and balancing competing demands and projects to meet deadlines.

What will you do:

  • Develop and deliver an annual strategy for the Tour and External Events 

  • Work with the Brand Partners to deliver their objectives
  • Develop the event calendar, establish dates and locations, evaluate and book venues

  • Overseeing the programming of the content of the Tours and Events

  • Organise, manage and support the delivery of the Tour and Events
  • Ensure compliance with insurance, legal, and health & safety obligations

  • Manage the budget, ensuring all initiatives operate within budget to deliver a return on investment

  • Drive sales through working with the marketing team to deliver effective campaigns reaching new and existing audiences

  • Coordinate presenting and support teams for the UK Tour and events
  • Provide data analysis and reports, internally and externally
  • Explore new channels for potential growth of the Tours and Events
  • Champion our brand, supporting and contributing to building greater awareness and advocacy.

The person will have:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in an event delivery role

  • Have a strong commercial sense and ambition
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A positive team player
  • Be reliable, organised and able to work to deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • An interest and understanding of the outdoors and activities

JOB DETAILSLocation: Kendal, Cumbria with flexible working hours available
Position type: 4-day working week for approximately 42 weeks of the year - on full salary
5-days a week for approximately 10 weeks of the yearStart date: No later than October 2024

Holidays: 16 days holiday + statutory + an extra 4 days for closure over Christmas period
