Communications & Marketing Coordinator

Are you a team player, keen to support the marketing and event delivery of UK's leading outdoor and adventure Festival, tour and digital platform?

The Communications and Marketing function is leading an exciting and ambitious strategy that will deliver concise and engaging messaging, highly effective marketing campaigns whilst elevating the brand and profile of Kendal Mountain.

We are seeking a Communications & Marketing Specialist to implement a cohesive strategy with campaigns that will engage existing and new audiences, build greater brand awareness and drive sales across all of our products and services. These include the annual Festival, UK and International Tours, and our online streaming platform alongside building a growing community across our database and channels.

This position is centred in a fast-paced environment requiring the successful candidate to support and pivot across multiple tasks and audiences on a daily basis. To use, understand and enjoy digital marketing and how strong content creation will result in commercially successful campaigns.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and organisational skills, close attention to detail and a flexible approach. Experience of working in a marketing or communications role is essential, as well as liaising with a range of colleagues and stakeholders, and balancing competing demands and projects to meet deadlines.

What will you do:

  • Create exciting content and promotional activities for the Festival and Tours ticket sales
  • Lead the social, web and e-newsletter content
  • Drive sales through effective campaigns reaching new and existing audiences
  • Implement mechanisms to greater understand our audiences
  • Grow inclusive and self-servicing social communities
  • Provide data analysis and reports, internally and externally
  • Explore new channels, trends and influencers that will engage with our audiences
  • Champion our brand, supporting and contributing to building greater awareness and advocacy
  • Develop our tone of voice, complementing with our visual identity, to ensure consistently across all marketing collateral.

The person will have:

  • 3-5 years’ experience in a commercial marketing role
  • High level in writing engaging content directed at different audiences
  • Ability to create eye-catching content across social media channels
  • Understanding in data analysis to build campaigns
  • Experience with email marketing tools
  • Experienced user of social advertising platforms and budget management
  • Experience of website CMS tools and online analytics
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • A positive team player
  • Be reliable, organised and able to work to deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

JOB DETAILS

Location: Kendal, Cumbria with flexible working hoursPosition type: 4-day working week for approximately 40 weeks of the year, 5-days from mid-September to the Festival in NovemberStart date: No later than 8th September 2024Applications open until: 12pm Wednesday 7th August 2024Salary: £26-£28k depending on experienceHolidays: 16 days holiday + statutory + an extra 4 days for closure over Christmas periodPension

We are a small (15-person) team that organises the world's largest annual cultural Festival celebrating adventure, nature, and the outdoors. We also deliver over 60 events throughout the UK and internationally each year.
