Basecamp

Our legendary tented Basecamp Village is the heart of the Festival – and it's bigger than ever! Free to enter and wheelchair accessible, you can find us in the Abbot Hall Park, just a three minute walk from the Brewery Arts Centre.

Basecamp is our social hub, where our partner organisations bring their stories to life – as well as the interactive stands, we have four stages hosting over 80 free talks, from everyday adventures to the icons of the world of mountaineering and exploration. There is endless excitement from being surrounded by a whole bunch of people that love and cherish the outdoors!

The popular bluetooth headphones are back at both our Bothy and Adventure stages, enabling you to filter out the background noise and engage with each conversation.

Basecamp is also where you’ll find the Info Desk, Book and Merchandising Shop, inside the main marquee. Our friendly team will be able to provide updates on the talks on the Basecamp Stages, directions to venues, programme changes, and help with any general questions you might have.
