Cranked mountain bike magazine

We have no idea what bike you should buy. Because we don't do reviews, at all. Instead we do inspiration and insight, every three months.

We tell stories. About dreams, races, places, crashes and triumphs. Oh, and bikes. Because bikes are ace.

The Cranked team includes some of the best writers, photographers and riders in the world. We have a simple goal: to make the best print mountain bike magazine you've ever seen.

Cranked #22

Cranked #22 is ou 'feed your curiosity' issue. We take a trip to South Africa’s wine region to do stuff with bikes that’s best tackled, frankly, with a clear head, Tym Manley celebrates a 90s racer who was years ahead of his time, eBikes come of age with the start of a new race series, and we talk to three riders about their life-changing accidents – and what they’re doing about life in a wheelchair. Plus building trails and community in the desert, a magical history trail tour, why dropper posts are upside down, and the longest journey ever to buy an ice cream. Probably.

Cranked #21

Cranked #21 is our ‘let’s celebrate 21 issues of Cranked by celebrating 21 years of mountain biking’ issue. 160 pages, 14 features… and a specially commissioned Jo Burt cover. Editor Seb has trawled his extensive archives and retrieved some of the most interesting stories he’s covered over the past couple of decades. From the birth of freeride in British Columbia in the late 90s to the Iranian refugee who left his family behind to pursue his dream of racing the World Cup circuit, it’s an eclectic and not by any means comprehensive view of mountain biking – but we think you’ll like it.
