Introducing ‘Share Your Movement’

A new Film Category supported by YETI

Grab your smartphone, no experience required…

Film is the beating heart of our Festival and each year we scout and curate incredible films showcasing the outdoors through the eyes of filmmakers across the world.

Now, with smartphones in pockets, we all have the means to capture our own experience of the outdoors and we want to see your story!

We're aiming to widen the definition of ‘adventure’ storytelling and are inviting submissions of short films up to 5 minutes from anyone and everyone for a brand new film competition category, supported by YETI.

Get creative and capture your moment of movement within the outdoors. Do you love to walk, climb, skate, forest bath, ride or paddle? Do gnarly crags, heather-topped moors, urban trails or dappled sun-lit woodlands set your soul alive? Capture your adventures and you could see ‘Your Movement’ on the big screen at our 2021 Festival.

Top prizes to be won…

The winner of this new film category will:

  • Have their film shown as part of Kendal Mountain Festival 2021
  • Receive £200 and Festival trophy
  • An incredible £500 worth of YETI kit to fuel future adventures!

A shortlist of the best films will play on the Kendal Mountain Festival YouTube channel a month before the Festival and a selection of these will then be shown at the 2021 Festival with the winner announced at the Film Awards Ceremony.

Competition Terms and Conditions

By taking part in this competition you accept and agree to these terms and conditions.

1. What can you win?

There will be 1 winner who will win the below:

- £200- £500 of YETI kit- Your film shown at Kendal Mountain Festival

*The Prize is subject to availability and Kendal Mountain Events reserve the rights to change the prize to a prize we consider to be of broadly equivalent value.

The Prize may not be exchanged for a cash value, nor is it transferable. The Prize is subject to winner confirmation (i.e. Kendal Mountain Events has been able to contact the winner and has been able to confirm eligibility and the winners address). Kendal Mountain Events has the right to change, alter or withdraw the competition or Prize at any time due to any change in any applicable law or any events outside the control of Kendal Mountain Events.

2. Who can enter?

Employees (and their immediate family) of the YETI, and Kendal Mountain Festival, or anyone else professionally connected with this competition are not eligible to enter the competition.

3. How to enter

Entrants can enter the competition by creating a film under 5 minutes in length and uploading this to FilmFreeway.

The code YETI21 will allow films to uploaded for free. No purchase is necessary to enter the competition.

No responsibility is taken for entries that are lost, delayed, misdirected or incomplete or cannot be delivered or entered for any technical or other reason.

4. Closing times

The competition ends on 1/11/2021 at 11.59 GMT. Any entries received after this date and time will not be valid.

5. How are winners selected?

A winner will be selected by Kendal Mountain Events. The winners will be notified via email. In the event that the winner does not communicate his/her acceptance of the Prize within 3 days of receiving this email, Kendal Mountain Events reserves the right to pick another winner (in accordance with the procedure set out in this section) and the original winner will waive his/her right to the Prize.

6. Publicity

By taking part in the competition, entrants agree to participate in publicity.
