FAQS

Does my pass give me access to all events?

The pass itself does not give you access to events, but it enables you to book tickets for all events. As most of our events have seat allocation or limited capacity, everyone must have a ticket to attend each event. Your pass allows you to book tickets for all events, on the day your pass is valid, or for the entire weekend if you have a full weekend pass.

If I have a pass, do I need to pay for a ticket?

You don’t need to pay for any tickets with your pass. Remember, you will still need to book tickets to the events you want to attend – at no extra cost.

Separate to your pass, you can also also buy extra tickets for friends or family, if needed. This can be done through your account, purchasing as individual tickets.

Why are the events individually ticketed?

We provide passes as well as individual tickets to ensure our Festival is price-accessible to suit everyone's budget and level of interest in attending – whether that's for the full 4 days, for 1 day or just to attend a single event.

We also ticket each event to ensure we can monitor capacity informing ticket holders when an event is sold out or has capacity to attend.

And finally, internally it's incredibly important for us to work with each Festival venue and their Health and Safety regulations to monitor capacity and ensure everyone has a safe experience at each event.

Can I reserve multiple seats with one pass?

No – each pass is valid for one person. However, you can store multiple passes under one account. When booking, you’ll be asked to assign a pass to each ticket. Simply select the appropriate pass when booking multiple tickets.

Can I buy multiple passes?

Yes, you can purchase multiple passes under one account holder, but each pass should be registered to the main user it’s intended for.

You can have multiple passes saved under one account. When you go to select your ticket, it will ask you to select which pass you’d like to use for that purchase. When you go to book the second ticket, you can select the other pass.

Do I need to create two accounts for the Two-Together pass?

No, it's really easy. This pass can sit on one person's account, who will register the two names connected to the pass.

How do I buy a family pass?

It is very hard for us to quantify what a family consists of. New for 2026, we have introduced the ‘Two Together’ pass, as well as the ‘Under 18s’ Pass, which we hope will be cost-saving for you and your family attending the Festival.

We ask for guardians of children under 18 to be aware that our film content is not age restricted so there may be inappropriate language or challenging stories shared.

For families with younger children (12 years and younger) we curate family-friendly sessions as well as basecamp stage talks and would encourage you to attend these events instead - these are ticketed, free and do not require a pass.

The Under 18s Pass is for teenagers, between 13-17 years old.

I am unable to attend the Festival, can I get a refund on my pass?

All pass sales are final and non-refundable.

I can’t find any events that I want to attend, can I get a refund?

We recommend browsing the programme before purchasing, as all pass sales are final. That said, with over 200 events running across the weekend, we encourage you to book a ticket and try something new!

How do I cancel my ticket for an event, and will this affect my pass?

You can cancel tickets via the ‘My Tickets’ section of your account. Click ‘Manage Tickets’ for the relevant event, and select ‘Cancel’. You can cancel up to 15 minutes before the event starts. Cancelling a ticket doesn’t affect your pass.

Do I get credit back if I don’t use my pass allocation?

No. All pass sales are final and usage is at the pass holder’s discretion. With such a full programme, we hope you’ll find plenty to enjoy.

Are the parties included in the pass?

All Weekend Festival Passes, Day Passes and Two Together pass-holders are able to select tickets for the parties, this include the ceilidhs. However, our parties often sell out, so make sure to book your tickets ASAP!

In venues where alcohol is licensed and served, the Under 18s Pass are not permitted to be used.

Please note our security team is permitted to request photo identification from individuals to ensure everyone entering the Festival parties is legally 18 years or older.

Are the ‘activities’ included in the pass?

Activities and workshops listed on the Kendal Mountain Festival ticketing site are included in your Festival Weekend, Day and Two-Together pass.

However, the adidas TERREX Kendal Mountain Trail Run and The North Face Kendal Mountain Ultra are not included in the passes, as these tickets are sold separately. All activities ticketed via the Kendal Mountain Festival ticketing site are available to book onto with the pass. Our activities often sell-out so make sure to book your tickets early!

Please refer to the full list of events and activities not included within the Festival Ticket Passes within the Terms and Conditions section.

Unfortunately activities and workshops are not included in the Under 18s pass.

Do I need a pass to attend free events?

No, a pass isn’t required for free events. However, if the event is ticketed – even if free – you will still need to book a ticket. You can do this with or without a pass.

Can I buy individual tickets to events?

Yes! Individual event tickets can be purchased whether or not you have a pass.

Are the Kendal Trail Races (50km and 10km) included in the pass?

No.  The adidas TERREX Kendal Mountain Trail Run and The North Face Kendal Mountain Ultra are not included in the passes, as these tickets are sold separately. All activities ticketed via the Kendal Mountain Festival ticketing site are included in the Weekend, Day and Two-Together passes.

Please refer to the full list of events and activities not included within the Festival Ticket Passes within the Terms and Conditions section.

If I have a pass, can I book tickets to sold out events?

Unfortunately, no. Your pass gives you 48-hour priority booking before general release, and passholders can cancel their tickets – so more may become available closer to the event.

Is accommodation included in the pass?

No. Accommodation is arranged via a separate provider and is not included with your Festival pass.

What’s the difference between a pass and a ticket?

A pass enables you to book tickets for all Kendal Mountain Festival events during your valid period (day or weekend). A ticket grants access to a specific event. You can purchase tickets individually or use your pass to book them.

Do I get a discount for buying multiple passes?

Not at this time. Multi-pass discounts are not available this year.

New for 2026, we have introduced the ‘Two Together’ pass, as well as the ‘Under 18s’ Pass, which we hope will be cost-saving for you and your family attending the Festival.

As you provide under 18s passes, is the Festival family-friendly?

Yes. We encourage everyone to come and be inspired.

Do I need to bring ID to the Festival?
