Patagonia Adventure Activists Tour

Join us in the beautiful landscape of North Wales for our Patagonia Adventure Activists Tour as we continue to inspire change through adventure.

For this session host Kate Rawles aka Carbon Cycle Kate will guide us through the issue of how best to protect our wild places.

We welcome kayaker and environmental activists, Dan Yates and Tom Laws from Save Our Rivers to the stage. Travelling the world as expedition kayakers Dan and Tom see firsthand the destruction that hydroelectric development of free-flowing rivers has on both the environment and local communities.

Save Our Rivers believes everyone, wherever they live, should have a voice in the future of our National Parks and wild rivers. As our last free flowing rivers and wild places are increasingly under threat from damaging development and loss of legal protections.

Save Our Rivers aims to provide those who care with the information and knowledge on how to use existing legal structures to fight back. Through lodging objections via the planning system and by responding to government consultations we can give the public an effective mechanism to keep the places they value safe.

Plus hear from Dom Ferris, Dom is one of the fantastic folk who brought us Surfers Against Sewage and has now created a trail stewardship, which every mountain biker should be getting behind. Trash Free Trails is a non-profit organisation who are working hard to reduce the amount of litter on the UK's mountain bike trails by 75% by 2025. Dom shares insights into the work they do and offers advice on how you can get involved.

This unique event will be presented by Adventure and Ecology Ambassador Dr Kate Rawles.
