Lowe Alpine Friday Night Adventures

Celebrating adventure tales from around the globe

We are delighted to welcome one of the world's top polar explorers Ben Saunders to Kendal. Grangers ambassador Ben Saunders has covered a record-breaking 6,000km (3,700 miles) on foot in the Polar Regions since 2001. His accomplishments also include skiing solo to both the North and South poles, and leading The Scott Expedition, the longest human-powered polar journey in history – the first completion of the expedition that defeated Captain Scott and Sir Ernest Shackleton – a 105-day round-trip from Ross Island on the coast of Antarctica to the South Pole and back again.

We'll also be joined on stage by full time nomads, Fay and Matt Doyle. Despite being successful commercial photographers in London, Fay and Matt found themselves feeling unfulfilled. They decided to leave their urban and career-orientated lives behind and within two years have become full-time nomads. Fay and Matt join us to share their 'Imperfect Adventures' and explain how you can make your life more adventurous. With no previous experience the duo behind 'This Expansive Adventure' are currently beginning to explore
high-altitude landscapes, they explain how you too can step out of your comfort zone and head into new landscapes.
