Endurance Session

Mountain Running Session has morphed into a new slot which we’re sure will be a rising star for years to come! Welcome to the new ‘Endurance Session’ which showcases the best mountain running stories, long-distance solo adventures, multi-sports challenges and simple tales of suffering, hardship and sheer dogged resilience. Our new host is no stranger to this territory; Huw Jack Brassington thrives in this world, having taken on the 'Dragon’s Back', overseas ultra-marathons, numerous triathlons and most recently the legendary 'Paddy Buckley Round’.

We are delighted to announce our super trio of special guests this year:-

Fernanda Maciel
, originally from Brazil, now one of the most renowned ultra-marathon athletes in the world today,
At 23, she began to participate in international 600km 'non stop' adventure racing. Over the years, she progressed in each facet of adventure racing (kayak, MTB, trail running), multi-sports (snowboarding, MTB, downhill, speed, trail running), triathlon and marathons over mountains to become a great endurance athlete. Today, Fernanda's achievements include being the first woman to run the Camino de Santiago Compostela (860km in 10 days) and was second on the Ultra Trail Mount Fuji (169km).

Nicky Spinks is a cancer survivor, a farmer in the Peak District and a renowned ultra-runner who holds the records for the incredible Double Bob Graham and Double Ramsay Round and more recently an incredible double Paddy Buckley round. She will share new stories and reveals how she was last woman standing at this year’s notorious Barkley Marathons, widely-regarded as the world’s toughest ultramarathon. She is now a farmer in Yorkshire.

Tom Evans, a Former British Army Captain, exploded onto the ultra running scene back in 2017 when he shocked the field and took third place at the Marathon Des Sables, despite being completely unknown to the ultra-endurance world. Just 18 months later he went one better at the Ultra Trail du Mont Blanc with a brilliant first place result in the CCC. As a special treat for our audience, we’ll screen the world première of a new film from adidas Terrex about Tom’s life as a top athlete and his ambitions for the years ahead.
